Eat and Drink: Mamasita Mexican

Truly a rare find on the island of Phuket, Mamasita Mexican is a 100% authentic Mexican restaurant serving up classic favourites such as fajitas, enchiladas and tacos while utilising fresh, local produce and authentic Mexican spices.

The restaurant is a burst of colour featuring warm tones, sombreros and gorgeous old photos of Mexico. Family-owned and operated, the staff is exceptionally attentive and happy to offer recommendations. Many of the staff have spent time living and working in Mexico, so suffice to say you can trust their choices.

The man in charge of the kitchen is Chef Pablito, originally from the state of Puebla in Mexico. Chef Pablito is passionate about food, and if you tell him what you do and do not like, he will recommend or create a dish based on your tastes.

Prices at Mamasita Mexican are beyond affordable for authentic Mexican cuisine and the menu is ample. There is a great selection of tequila on hand behind the bar, and the choice is yours when it comes to margaritas.

Mamasita Mexican is now open daily for lunch starting at 1:00pm, and the restaurant closes at midnight. Take-away is available, but part of the great experience is dining in house with mariachi music in the background.
