When it rains in Phuket
For those rainy days on the island, most of which occur in low season and many in the month of October, Phuket isn’t short on indoor entertainment. Obvious choices include malls and going to the cinema but there is actually quite a lot more to do while you’re trying to keep dry. You could indulge in a relaxing spa treatment; take a cooking class and learn the art of Thai cuisine; or attend one of many shows in the evening.

MUSEUMS
There are a number of interesting museums to frequent in Phuket, some of which offer insight into the island’s past.
In town, you’ll come across the rather bizarre Thavorn Museum, full of once-cared-for but now long-forgotten items. It will take you back in time and leave you feeling rather curious. Head over to Kathu to enter the magnificent pink Sino-Portuguese building that is home to the Phuket Mining Museum and you’ll have experienced an educational day out.
The Phuket Trickeye Museum is the first 3D painting exhibition of its kind in Southern Thailand. Another off-the-wall adventure can be had at the Upside Down House on the By-pass Road.
